I have decided in the past to automate some stuff at my home.

the first step was the purchase of IKEA TRÅDFRI starter set and two Google Home Mini devices (now called Nest Mini). As all was working fine, I've extended the number of lightbulbs, controllers, Google Home Mini and purchased some control outlets.

I was able to control (almost) all the lights via voice commands, Goggle Home and IKEA App via smartphone.

One thing left and I had no idea how to solve it - the lights on the floor. They are controlled via couple of pushbuttons connected to bistabile relay in the fuse box.

After some time my professional interest leads me to software containers (Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift) and I've found some interesting ideas on YouTube channel of Andreas Spiess - "the guy with the swiss accent".

Following pages are documenting my experiments on the field of home automation using Docker, Portainer, Moquitto, Node-RED, InfluxDB, Grafana and some more stuff.

Enjoy!
